Abstract

a 61 year old man incurred a posterolateral dislocation of the knee, which was a rare type of knee injury. The dislocation was assciated with tear of the vastus medialis in which medial condyle of the femur was inpinged and closed reduction was
impossible. The mechanism of injury was abdction force and internal rotation of the tibia upon the femur. This type of knee dislocation cannor be reduced by closed means and the4refore immediate open reduction with primary ligamentous repair is
the
treatment of choice.
